Some Definitive Motion Picture Reviews

It used to be that you had to go to the video store to get a movie. As technologies have advanced, downloading dvds from off movie download sites is becoming very common. Below is a sample of some of the movies you can find using movie download sites.

No Mercy: Chicago cop Gere storms into Louisiana Bayou nation desiring the slaughterer of his partner, falls for Cajun beauty Basinger who's been "sold" to the kingpin culprit of the town. Even meaningless melodramas have to make sense, a minimum of on their own terms; this one's pretty absurd. Cast includes Richard Gere, Kim Basinger, Jeroen Krabbe, George Dzundza, Gary Basaraba, William Atherton, and Ray Sharkey. (105 minutes, 1986)

Deliverance: This is an excellent re-creation of the Dickey novel of 4 Atlanta businessmen who get more than they can handle throughout a weekend canoe trip. McKinney and Coward are 2 of the most horrifying film scoundrels in history. The "Dueling Banjos" scene is very memorable. Film debuts of Beatty and Cox. James Dickey adjusted his own novel, and appears in the film as a sheriff. Ed O'Neill appears as a freeway watcher near end of film. Cast includes Cast includes Jon Voight, Burt Reynolds, Ned Beatty, Ronny Cox, Billy McKinney, Herbert "Dude" Coward, and James Dickey. (109 minutes, 1972)

The Prestige: The setting is the early 1900's in London. Magicians are of high status in the entertainment industry. Robert Angler and Alfred Borden, once partners on stage, are now in an intense battle to be the best magician in London. They will go to any means to outdo the other.

King Kong Escapes: Contrived new structure engaging gal who triumphs baboon's heart, battle contrary to could-be planet conqueror. Kong on no account had it so poor. Cast includes Mie Hama, Linda Miller, and Akira Takarada. (96 minutes, 1987)

The Client: Mark Sway witnesses the suicide of Jerome Clifford, a lawyer who works for the mob. This man had mob connections, and now everyone wants to talk to Mark Sway. He says he knows nothing, but the F.B.I. thinks otherwise.

Just Cause: A famous Harvard Ordinance School professor is convinced to help a black gentleman in Florida who's getting ready to be finished for a heinous offense he avows he didn't carry out. Starts out as an immersing tale, however gets to be so preposterous not to reference unpleasant by the marshy pinnacle that it ends up to be. John Katzenbach's novel significantly changed. Cast includes Sean Connery, Laurence Fishburne, Kate Capshaw, Blair Underwood, Ed Harris, Chris Sarandon, and George Plimpton. (102 minutes, 1995)

Ghost Rider: Super star motorcycle stuntman Johnny Blaze had made a deal with the devil. He made the deal to protect his loved ones, his father, and Roxanne. Now the devil is back, and Johnny must pay.

Hanna K: Captivating although unsatisfying melodrama in regards to flaky barrister Clayburgh and her clashing relations with ex-spouse Yanne, Israeli precinct lawyer Byrne and Palestinian Bakri, who's trying to restore his ancestral home. Debatable due to its pro-Palestinian stand, however on creative terms a chief disheartenment from Costa-Gavras. Cast includes Jill Clayburgh, Jean Yanne, Gabriel Byrne, Mohammed Bakri, and David Clennon. (108 minutes, 1983)

Abe Lincoln in Illinois: This is a top notch story of a key piece of American history. Raymond Massey is simply outstanding as Abe Lincoln. This film is an accurate recount of President Lincoln's life. The film is based on Robert Sherwood's highly acclaimed play. Raymond Massey, Gene Lockhart, Ruth Gordon, Mary Howard all star in this film. (1940 Historical Drama)
