Improving Your Golf Swing : 6 Need To Know Tips

By Mark Walters

Watching a pro golfer hit a beautiful, straight and long drive can either be really inspirational or really frustrating. Learning how to swing the club is a vital skill for aspiring golfers of any skill level or age. Take advantage of these quick tips to help improve your swing and your entire golf game:

1) Focus and keep a relaxed state while driving the ball because you need a loose and nice grip.

2) Your head should then be kept down throughout the whole swing. Therefore, you should not follow the ball?s flight but focus on the spot where you hit the ball. Keeping your eye on the ball throughout your swing can increase yardage on your drives.

3) You should release later during the swing, because the further down your downswing, the further you will be able to hit the ball. Once this technique is mastered, you will be able to increase its power.

4) The swing must be lengthened. While swinging, make sure that you are extending all the way through the ball. Arms should not be tight and bent but extended.

5) Many people don't rotate properly while aligning their backswing. It's important that you achieve a complete, proper and tight rotation so that you maintain accuracy and strength.

6) Keep your bodyweight on your front foot as opposed to you back foot. This will enable you to easily transfer the force of your swing to the ball, rather than having a powerful swing that goes nowhere. Keeping your weight on your back foot will seriously hinder your able to gain distance.

Finally, you have to understand that a good golf swing is about mastering techniques and about mastering timing and fluidity. You can't learn these things just by reading, you have to get out there and get as many swings as you can so you can learn by doing. It may be unreasonable to expect to be driving 300 yards anytime soon, but it's absolutely within your power to add distance and accuracy to your golf drives starting today.
